Outreach Activities

Throughout my time in Clemson, I have been involved in a variety of organizations that have helped shape my time at Clemson University. These organizations range from academic based to social outreach organizations.

ASL Club

I have been a member of the Clemson ASL Club since I started at Clemson. This organization hold social events on a regular basis to allow community members and students to interact informally using ASL. This opportunity has allowed me to practice my signing skills in a real life setting outside the classroom. Often deaf community members will attend and converse with students allowing them to enhance their skills.

Gamma Phi Beta Sorority

I have been a member of Gamma Phi Beta since Fall 2019. Since then I have been able to get more involved around campus, take on leadership roles and overall grow as a sister and individual. Being apart of this organization has given me the chance to support our philanthropic mission of "building strong girls". In addition, due to my affiliation with my chapter, I was able to represent the Clemson Panhellenic Community by serving as a Pi Chi recruitment counselor for recruitment 2022. By being selected for this role, I was responsible for guiding potential new members through the recruitment process and acted as an aid for these women.

Clemson Players

I have been a member of the student theatre organization, The Clemson Players, since spring of 2020. This organization works collaboratively to put on full length productions for local audiences. During my time in this club I was able to assistant stage manage two productions, the musical Bright Star and The Thanksgiving Play. In addition, I was also able to stage manage the musical A Year with Frog and Toad.

Clemson Athletic Academic Services

I have been a tutor for the Clemson athletic department since summer of 2021. I mainly work with students taking introductory level sign language classes to support them in their coursework. Students attend the tutoring sessions to go over class material. In addition to the tutoring sessions, employees are required to attend at least three professional development lessons that help tutors learn studying and facilitating strategies.

Pi Beta Kappa Honors Society

I have been in inducted member since spring 2022. "10% of U.S. colleges and universities have chapters and these chapters only nominate about 10% of their arts and sciences graduates."
